8 “Therefore do not be like them. For your Father (A)knows the things you have need of before you ask Him. 9 In this (B)manner, therefore, pray:
(C)Our Father in heaven,
Hallowed be Your (D)name.
10 Your kingdom come.
(E)Your will be done
On earth (F)as it is in heaven.
11 Give us this day our (G)daily bread.
12 And (H)forgive us our debts,
As we forgive our debtors.
13 (I)And do not lead us into temptation,
But (J)deliver us from the evil one.
[a]For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
14 (K)“For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But (L)if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
Fasting to Be Seen Only by God
16 “Moreover, (M)when you fast, do not be like the [b]hypocrites, with a sad countenance. For they disfigure their faces that they may appear to men to be fasting. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. 17 But you, when you fast, (N)anoint your head and wash your face, 18 so that you do not appear to men to be fasting, but to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you [c]openly.

as we also have forgiven our debtors.(F)
13 And lead us not into temptation,[a](G)

14 For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.(I) 15 But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.(J)
Fasting
16 “When you fast,(K) do not look somber(L) as the hypocrites do, for they disfigure their faces to show others they are fasting. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 17 But when you fast, put oil on your head and wash your face, 18 so that it will not be obvious to others that you are fasting, but only to your Father, who is unseen; and your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.(M)
