Matthew 21:41-46
New King James Version
41 (A)They said to Him, (B)“He will destroy those wicked men miserably, (C)and lease his vineyard to other vinedressers who will [a]render to him the fruits in their seasons.”
42 Jesus said to them, “Have you never read in the Scriptures:
(D)‘The stone which the builders rejected
Has become the chief cornerstone.
This was the Lord’s doing,
And it is marvelous in our eyes’?
43 “Therefore I say to you, (E)the kingdom of God will be taken from you and given to a nation bearing the fruits of it. 44 And (F)whoever falls on this stone will be broken; but on whomever it falls, (G)it will grind him to powder.”
45 Now when the chief priests and Pharisees heard His parables, they [b]perceived that He was speaking of them. 46 But when they sought to lay hands on Him, they (H)feared the multitudes, because (I)they took Him for a prophet.

41 “He will bring those wretches to a wretched end,”(A) they replied, “and he will rent the vineyard to other tenants,(B) who will give him his share of the crop at harvest time.”
42 Jesus said to them, “Have you never read in the Scriptures:
“‘The stone the builders rejected
has become the cornerstone;
the Lord has done this,
and it is marvelous in our eyes’[a]?(C)
43 “Therefore I tell you that the kingdom of God will be taken away from you(D) and given to a people who will produce its fruit. 44 Anyone who falls on this stone will be broken to pieces; anyone on whom it falls will be crushed.”[b](E)
45 When the chief priests and the Pharisees heard Jesus’ parables, they knew he was talking about them. 46 They looked for a way to arrest him, but they were afraid of the crowd because the people held that he was a prophet.(F)
