³⁶But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment.

³⁶But I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of judgment for every empty word they have spoken.

¹¹^(A)Not what goes into the mouth defiles a man; but what comes out of the mouth, this defiles a man.”

¹¹What goes into someone’s mouth does not defile them,^(A) but what comes out of their mouth, that is what defiles them.”^(B)

¹⁸But ^(A)those things which proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and they defile a man.
