²⁰ and teaching^(A) them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you^(B) always, to the very end of the age.”^(C)

⁴ If he were on earth, he would not be a priest, for there are already priests who offer the gifts prescribed by the law.^(A)

¹¹ The poor you will always have with you,^[a](A) but you will not always have me.

²⁸ I came from the Father and entered the world; now I am leaving the world and going back to the Father.”^(A)

²¹ Heaven must receive him^(A) until the time comes for God to restore everything,^(B) as he promised long ago through his holy prophets.^(C)

¹⁷ the Spirit of truth.^(A) The world cannot accept him,^(B) because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be^[a] in you. ¹⁸ I will not leave you as orphans;^(C) I will come to you.^{(D) 19} Before long, the world will not see me anymore, but you will see me.^(E) Because I live, you also will live.^(F)

¹³ But when he, the Spirit of truth,^(A) comes, he will guide you into all the truth.^(B) He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.
