Mark 4:9-13
New American Standard Bible
9 And He was saying, “(A)He who has ears to hear, [a]let him hear.”
10 As soon as He was alone, [b]His followers, along with the twelve disciples, began asking Him about the parables. 11 And He was saying to them, “To you has been given the mystery of the kingdom of God, but for (B)those who are outside, everything comes (C)in parables, 12 so that (D)while seeing they may see, and not perceive, and while hearing, they may hear, and not understand, otherwise they might return and it would be forgiven them.”

13 (E)And He *said to them, “Do you not understand this parable? How will you understand all the parables?

9 Then Jesus said, “Whoever has ears to hear, let them hear.”(A)
10 When he was alone, the Twelve and the others around him asked him about the parables. 11 He told them, “The secret of the kingdom of God(B) has been given to you. But to those on the outside(C) everything is said in parables 12 so that,
“‘they may be ever seeing but never perceiving,
and ever hearing but never understanding;
otherwise they might turn and be forgiven!’[a]”(D)
13 Then Jesus said to them, “Don’t you understand this parable? How then will you understand any parable?
