They said, “(A)Moses permitted a man to write a [a]certificate of divorce and [b]send his wife away.” But Jesus said to them, [c](B)Because of your hardness of heart he wrote you this commandment. But (C)from the beginning of creation, God (D)created them male and female. (E)For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother[d], (F)and the two shall become one flesh; so they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore, what God has joined together, no person is to separate.”
