Living Bible
3 Stepping into one of the boats, Jesus asked Simon, its owner, to push out a little into the water, so that he could sit in the boat and speak to the crowds from there.
4 When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Now go out where it is deeper and let down your nets and you will catch a lot of fish!”
5 “Sir,” Simon replied, “we worked hard all last night and didn’t catch a thing. But if you say so, we’ll try again.”

New International Version
3 He got into one of the boats, the one belonging to Simon, and asked him to put out a little from shore. Then he sat down and taught the people from the boat.(A)
4 When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Put out into deep water, and let down the nets for a catch.”(B)
5 Simon answered, “Master,(C) we’ve worked hard all night and haven’t caught anything.(D) But because you say so, I will let down the nets.”
