13 He gathered to himself the Ammonites and the (A)Amalekites, and went and defeated Israel. And they took possession of (B)the city of palms. 14 And the people of Israel served Eglon the king of Moab for eighteen years.
15 Then the people of Israel (C)cried out to the Lord, and the Lord raised up for them (D)a deliverer, Ehud, the son of Gera, the Benjaminite, (E)a left-handed man. The people of Israel sent tribute by him to Eglon the king of Moab.

13 Getting the Ammonites(A) and Amalekites(B) to join him, Eglon came and attacked Israel, and they took possession of the City of Palms.[a](C) 14 The Israelites were subject to Eglon king of Moab(D) for eighteen years.
15 Again the Israelites cried out to the Lord, and he gave them a deliverer(E)—Ehud(F), a left-handed(G) man, the son of Gera the Benjamite. The Israelites sent him with tribute(H) to Eglon king of Moab.
