Jonah 3:6-10

New International Version

“By the decree of the king and his nobles:

Do not let people or animals, herds or flocks, taste anything; do not let them eat or drink.^{(B) 8} But let people and animals be covered with sackcloth. Let everyone call^(C) urgently on God. Let them give up^(D) their evil ways^(E) and their violence.^{(F) 9} Who knows?^(G) God may yet relent^(H) and with compassion turn^(I) from his fierce anger^(J) so that we will not perish.”
