Jonah 2:7-9

New International Version

⁷ “When my life was ebbing away,
    I remembered^(A) you, Lord,
and my prayer^(B) rose to you,
    to your holy temple.^(C)

⁸ “Those who cling to worthless idols^(D)
    turn away from God’s love for them.
⁹ But I, with shouts of grateful praise,^(E)
    will sacrifice^(F) to you.
What I have vowed^(G) I will make good.
    I will say, ‘Salvation^(H) comes from the Lord.’”
