²⁵ “I have aroused ^(A)one from the north, and he has come;
From the rising of the sun he will call on My name;
And he will come upon rulers as upon ^(B)mortar,
Even as the potter treads clay.”

³⁵ “A ^(A)sword against the Chaldeans,” declares the Lord,
“And against the inhabitants of Babylon
And against her ^(B)officials and her ^(C)wise men!

^11 (A)Sharpen the arrows, fill the quivers!
The Lord has aroused the spirit of the kings of the Medes,
Because His purpose is against Babylon to destroy it;
For it is the ^(B)vengeance of the Lord, vengeance for His temple.

²⁰ He says, “You are My ^[a](A)war-club, My weapon of war;
And with you I ^(B)shatter nations,
And with you I destroy kingdoms.
