Hebrews 2:15-17
International Standard Version
15 and might free those who were slaves all their lives because they were terrified by death. 16 For it is clear that he did not come to help angels. No, he came to help Abraham’s descendants, 17 thereby becoming like his brothers in every way, so that he could be a merciful and faithful high priest in service to God and could atone for the people’s sins.

15 and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear(A) of death. 16 For surely it is not angels he helps, but Abraham’s descendants.(B) 17 For this reason he had to be made like them,[a](C) fully human in every way, in order that he might become a merciful(D) and faithful high priest(E) in service to God,(F) and that he might make atonement for the sins of the people.(G)
