Endure trials for the sake of discipline. God is treating you as children, for what child is there whom a parent does not discipline?(B) If you do not have that discipline in which all children share, then you are illegitimate and not his children.(C)

Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as his children.(C) For what children are not disciplined by their father? If you are not disciplined—and everyone undergoes discipline(D)—then you are not legitimate, not true sons and daughters at all.
