¹⁷ Now it happened that the sun had set, and it was very dark, and behold, there appeared a smoking oven and a flaming torch which ^(A)passed between these pieces.

^24 (A)Then fire came out from before Yahweh and consumed the burnt offering and the portions of fat on the altar. And all the people saw it and shouted and fell on their faces.

Nadab and Abihu Offer Strange Fire

10 Then ^(B)Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, took their respective ^(C)firepans and put fire in them. Then they placed incense on it and offered strange fire before Yahweh, which He had not commanded them. ^2 (D)And fire came out from the presence of Yahweh and consumed them, and they died before Yahweh.

²¹ Then the angel of Yahweh put out the end of the staff that was in his hand and touched the meat and the unleavened bread; and ^(A)fire sprang up from the rock and consumed the meat and the unleavened bread. Then the angel of Yahweh went away from before his eyes.

¹² And Elijah answered and spoke to them, “If I am a man of God, let fire come down from heaven and consume you and your fifty.” Then the fire of God came down from heaven and consumed him and his fifty.

²⁶ Then David built there an altar to Yahweh and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings. And he called to Yahweh and ^(A)He answered him with fire from heaven on the altar of burnt offering.

The Glory of Yahweh Fills His House

7 ^(A)Now when Solomon had ^[a]finished praying, ^(B)fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices, and the glory of Yahweh filled the house.

¹⁶ While this one was still speaking, another also came and said, “^(A)The fire of God fell from heaven and burned up the sheep and the young men and consumed them, and I alone have escaped to tell you.”
