¹⁶ Moreover, He said to me, “Son of man, behold, I am going to ^(A)break the staff of bread in Jerusalem, and they will eat bread by ^(B)weight and with anxiety, and drink water by ^(C)measure and in horror, ¹⁷ because bread and water will be scarce; and they will tremble with one another and ^(D)waste away in their guilt.

⁶ You have ^(A)sown much, only to ^[a]harvest little; you eat, but there is not enough to be satisfied; you drink, but there is not enough to become drunk; you put on clothing, but there is not enough for ^[b]anyone to get warm; and the one who earns, earns wages to put into a money bag full of holes.”
