19 And he said, (A)“I will make all my goodness pass before you and will proclaim before you my name ‘The Lord.’ And (B)I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will show mercy on whom I will show mercy. 20 But,” he said, “you cannot see my face, for (C)man shall not see me and live.” 21 And the Lord said, “Behold, there is a place by me where you shall stand on the rock, 22 and while my glory passes by I will put you in a (D)cleft of the rock, and I will (E)cover you with my hand until I have passed by.

I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.(C) 20 But,” he said, “you cannot see my face, for no one may see(D) me and live.”
21 Then the Lord said, “There is a place near me where you may stand on a rock. 22 When my glory passes by, I will put you in a cleft in the rock(E) and cover you with my hand(F) until I have passed by.
