Exodus 12:22-23
New American Standard Bible
22 And (A)you shall take a bunch of hyssop and dip it in the blood which is in the basin, and [a]apply some of the blood that is in the basin to the lintel and the two doorposts; and none of you shall go outside the door of his house until morning.

23 For (B)the Lord will pass through to strike the Egyptians; but when He sees the blood on the lintel and on the two doorposts, the Lord will pass over the door and will (C)not allow the (D)destroyer to come in to your houses to strike you.

New International Version
22 Take a bunch of hyssop,(A) dip it into the blood in the basin and put some of the blood(B) on the top and on both sides of the doorframe. None of you shall go out of the door of your house until morning. 23 When the Lord goes through the land to strike(C) down the Egyptians, he will see the blood(D) on the top and sides of the doorframe and will pass over(E) that doorway, and he will not permit the destroyer(F) to enter your houses and strike you down.
