36 From (A)Aroer which is on the edge of the [a]Valley of Arnon and from the city which is in the [b]valley, even to Gilead, there was no city that was too [c]high for us; the Lord our God turned it all over [d]to us. 37 (B)Only you did not go near the land of the sons of Ammon, all along the [e]river (C)Jabbok and the cities of the hill country, and wherever the Lord our God had commanded us to avoid.

36 From Aroer(A) on the rim of the Arnon Gorge, and from the town in the gorge, even as far as Gilead,(B) not one town was too strong for us. The Lord our God gave(C) us all of them. 37 But in accordance with the command of the Lord our God,(D) you did not encroach on any of the land of the Ammonites,(E) neither the land along the course of the Jabbok(F) nor that around the towns in the hills.
