The Seventy Weeks

^24 (A)“Seventy weeks^[a] are decreed about your people and ^(B)your holy city, to finish ^(C)the transgression, to put an end to sin, ^(D)and to atone for iniquity, ^(E)to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal both vision and prophet, and ^(F)to anoint a most holy place.^[b]

²⁶ And after the sixty-two weeks, an anointed one shall ^(A)be cut off and shall have nothing. And the people of the prince who is to come ^(B)shall destroy the city and the sanctuary. ^(C)Its^[a] end shall come with a flood, ^(D)and to the end there shall be war. ^(E)Desolations are decreed.

¹⁹ For ^(A)in him all the ^(B)fullness of God was pleased to dwell, ²⁰ and ^(C)through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, ^(D)making peace ^(E)by the blood of his cross.

¹¹ In him we have obtained ^(A)an inheritance, ^(B)having been predestined ^(C)according to the purpose of him who works all things according to ^(D)the counsel of his will,

¹⁴ who is ^(A)the guarantee^[a] of our ^(B)inheritance until ^(C)we acquire ^(D)possession of it,^{[b] (E)}to the praise of his glory.

² since ^(A)you have given him authority over all flesh, ^(B)to give eternal life to all ^(C)whom you have given him.

¹² he ^(A)entered ^(B)once for all into the holy places, not by means of ^(C)the blood of goats and calves but ^(D)by means of his own blood, ^(E)thus securing an eternal redemption.

¹⁵ Therefore he is ^(A)the mediator of a new covenant, so that ^(B)those who are called may ^(C)receive the promised eternal inheritance, ^(D)since a death has occurred that redeems them from the transgressions committed under the first covenant.^[a]
