13 But Ananias answered, “Lord, I have heard from many people about this man, (A)how much harm he did to (B)Your [a]saints in Jerusalem; 14 and here he (C)has authority from the chief priests to [b]arrest all who (D)call on Your name.” 15 But the Lord said to him, “Go, for (E)he is a chosen [c]instrument of Mine, to bear My name before (F)the Gentiles and (G)kings and the sons of Israel; 16 for (H)I will show him how much he must suffer in behalf of My name.” 17 So Ananias departed and entered the house, and after (I)laying his hands on him said, “(J)Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus, who appeared to you on the road by which you were coming, has sent me so that you may regain your sight and be (K)filled with the Holy Spirit.” 18 And immediately something like fish scales fell from his eyes, and he regained his sight, and he got up and was baptized; 19 and he took food and was strengthened.

Saul Begins to Preach Christ

Now (L)for several days he was with (M)the disciples who were in Damascus, 20 and immediately he began to proclaim Jesus (N)in the synagogues, [d]saying, “He is (O)the Son of God.” 21 All those hearing him continued to be amazed, and were saying, “Is this not the one who in Jerusalem (P)destroyed those who (Q)called on this name, and had come here for the purpose of bringing them bound before the chief priests?”

17 Then Ananias went to the house and entered it. Placing his hands on(I) Saul, he said, “Brother Saul, the Lord—Jesus, who appeared to you on the road as you were coming here—has sent me so that you may see again and be filled with the Holy Spirit.”(J) 18 Immediately, something like scales fell from Saul’s eyes, and he could see again. He got up and was baptized,(K) 19 and after taking some food, he regained his strength.

Saul in Damascus and Jerusalem

Saul spent several days with the disciples(L) in Damascus.(M) 20 At once he began to preach in the synagogues(N) that Jesus is the Son of God.(O) 21 All those who heard him were astonished and asked, “Isn’t he the man who raised havoc in Jerusalem among those who call on this name?(P) And hasn’t he come here to take them as prisoners to the chief priests?”(Q)
