10 But he became hungry and wanted to eat; but while they were making preparations, he (A)fell into a trance; 11 and he *saw (B)the sky opened up, and an [a]object like a great sheet coming down, lowered by four corners to the ground, 12 and on it were all kinds of four-footed animals and [b]crawling creatures of the earth and birds of the sky. 13 A voice came to him, “Get up, Peter, [c]kill and eat!” 14 But Peter said, “By no means, (C)Lord, for (D)I have never eaten anything [d]unholy and unclean.” 15 Again a voice came to him a second time, “(E)What God has cleansed, no longer [e]consider unholy.” 16 This happened three times, and immediately the [f]object was taken up into the sky.

10 He became hungry and wanted something to eat, and while the meal was being prepared, he fell into a trance.(A) 11 He saw heaven opened(B) and something like a large sheet being let down to earth by its four corners. 12 It contained all kinds of four-footed animals, as well as reptiles and birds. 13 Then a voice told him, “Get up, Peter. Kill and eat.”

14 “Surely not, Lord!”(C) Peter replied. “I have never eaten anything impure or unclean.”(D)

15 The voice spoke to him a second time, “Do not call anything impure that God has made clean.”(E)

16 This happened three times, and immediately the sheet was taken back to heaven.
