14 But you must (A)continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them, 15 and that from childhood you have known (B)the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

16 (C)All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, (D)and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for [a]instruction in righteousness, 17 (E)that the man of God may be complete, (F)thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Preach the Word

I (G)charge you [b]therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, (H)who will judge the living and the dead [c]at His appearing and His kingdom: Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. (I)Convince, (J)rebuke, (K)exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. (L)For the time will come when they will not endure (M)sound doctrine, (N)but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and (O)be turned aside to fables. But you be watchful in all things, (P)endure afflictions, do the work of (Q)an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.

14 But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it,(A) 15 and how from infancy(B) you have known the Holy Scriptures,(C) which are able to make you wise(D) for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. 16 All Scripture is God-breathed(E) and is useful for teaching,(F) rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,(G) 17 so that the servant of God[a](H) may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.(I)

In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead,(J) and in view of his appearing(K) and his kingdom, I give you this charge:(L) Preach(M) the word;(N) be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke(O) and encourage(P)—with great patience and careful instruction. For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine.(Q) Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.(R) They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.(S) But you, keep your head in all situations, endure hardship,(T) do the work of an evangelist,(U) discharge all the duties of your ministry.
