³³ And ^(A)Pharaoh Neco put him in bonds at ^(B)Riblah in the land of ^(C)Hamath, that he might not reign in Jerusalem, and laid on the land a tribute of a hundred talents^[a] of silver and a talent of gold. ³⁴ And ^(D)Pharaoh Neco made Eliakim the son of Josiah king in the place of Josiah his father, and ^(E)changed his name to Jehoiakim. But he took Jehoahaz away, ^(F)and he came to Egypt and died there.

Message to the Sons of Josiah

¹¹ For thus says the Lord concerning Shallum the son of Josiah, king of Judah, who reigned instead of Josiah his father, and ^(A)who went away from this place: “He shall return here no more, ¹² but ^(B)in the place where they have carried him captive, there shall he die, and he shall never see this land again.”
