1 John 2:2-6

New International Version

² He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins,^(A) and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.^(B)

Love and Hatred for Fellow Believers

³ We know^(C) that we have come to know him^(D) if we keep his commands.^{(E) 4} Whoever says, “I know him,”^(F) but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in that person.^{(G) 5} But if anyone obeys his word,^(H) love for God^[a] is truly made complete in them.^(I) This is how we know^(J) we are in him: ⁶ Whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus did.^(K)
