1 Samuel 2:23-25

23 So he said to them, “Why are you doing such things as these, the evil things that I hear from all these people? 24 No, my sons; for the report is not good (A)which I hear the Lord’s people circulating. 25 If one person sins against another, (B)God will mediate for him; but (C)if a person sins against the Lord, who can intercede for him?” But they would not listen to the voice of their father, for the (D)Lord desired to put them to death.

23 So he said to them, “Why do you do such things? I hear from all the people about these wicked deeds of yours. 24 No, my sons; the report I hear spreading among the Lord’s people is not good. 25 If one person sins against another, God[a] may mediate for the offender; but if anyone sins against the Lord, who will(A) intercede(B) for them?” His sons, however, did not listen to their father’s rebuke, for it was the Lord’s will to put them to death.
