1 Peter 3:19-22

19 by whom also He went and preached to the spirits in prison, 20 who formerly were disobedient, [a]when once the Divine longsuffering waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight souls, were saved through water. 21 (A)There is also an antitype which now saves us—baptism (B)(not the removal of the filth of the flesh, (C)but the answer of a good conscience toward God), through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, 22 who has gone into heaven and (D)is at the right hand of God, (E)angels and authorities and powers having been made subject to Him.

New International Version
19 After being made alive,[a] he went and made proclamation to the imprisoned spirits(A)— 20 to those who were disobedient long ago when God waited patiently(B) in the days of Noah while the ark was being built.(C) In it only a few people, eight in all,(D) were saved(E) through water, 21 and this water symbolizes baptism that now saves you(F) also—not the removal of dirt from the body but the pledge of a clear conscience(G) toward God.[b] It saves you by the resurrection of Jesus Christ,(H) 22 who has gone into heaven(I) and is at God’s right hand(J)—with angels, authorities and powers in submission to him.(K)
