1 Corinthians 3:11-16

New American Standard Bible

¹¹For no one can lay a ^(A)foundation other than the one which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. ¹²Now if anyone builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, or straw, ¹³^(B)each one’s work will become evident; for ^(C)the day will show it because it is to be revealed with fire, and the fire itself will test ^[a]the quality of each one’s work. ¹⁴If anyone’s work which he has built on it remains, he will ^(D)receive a reward. ¹⁵If anyone’s work is burned up, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet only ^(E)so as through fire.

¹⁶^(F)Do you not know that ^(G)you are a ^[b]temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?

¹¹For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.^(A) ¹²If anyone builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw, ¹³their work will be shown for what it is,^(B) because the Day^(C) will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each person’s work.^(D) ¹⁴If what has been built survives, the builder will receive a reward.^(E) ¹⁵If it is burned up, the builder will suffer loss but yet will be saved—even though only as one escaping through the flames.^(F)
