²⁸ And God has appointed these in the church:^(A) first apostles, second prophets, third teachers,^(B) next miracles,^(C) then gifts of healing,^(D) helping, leading, various kinds of tongues.^[a]

Honoring the Elders

¹⁷ The elders who are good leaders are to be considered worthy of double honor,^[a] especially those who work hard^(A) at preaching and teaching.
