David Dies
26 David the son of Jesse was king of Israel 27 (A) for 40 years. He ruled from Hebron for 7 years and from Jerusalem for 33 years. 28 David was rich and respected and lived to be an old man. Then he died, and his son Solomon became king.

The Death of David(A)
26 David son of Jesse was king(B) over all Israel.(C) 27 He ruled over Israel forty years—seven in Hebron(D) and thirty-three in Jerusalem.(E) 28 He died(F) at a good old age, having enjoyed long life, wealth and honor. His son Solomon succeeded him as king.(G)
