The Lord Reigns

93 (A)The Lord reigns; he is (B)robed in majesty;
    the Lord is (C)robed; he has (D)put on strength as his belt.
(E)Yes, the world is established; (F)it shall never be moved.
(G)Your throne is established from of old;
    (H)you are from everlasting.

(I)The floods have lifted up, O Lord,
    the floods have lifted up their voice;
    the floods lift up their roaring.
Mightier than the thunders of many waters,
    mightier than the waves of the sea,
    (J)the Lord (K)on high is mighty!

Your (L)decrees are very trustworthy;
    (M)holiness befits your house,
    O Lord, forevermore.

The Lord Will Not Forsake His People

94 O Lord, God of (N)vengeance,
    O God of vengeance, (O)shine forth!
(P)Rise up, O (Q)judge of the earth;
    repay to the (R)proud what they deserve!
O Lord, (S)how long shall the wicked,
    how long shall (T)the wicked exult?
They pour out their (U)arrogant words;
    all (V)the evildoers boast.
They (W)crush your people, O Lord,
    and afflict your heritage.
They kill (X)the widow and the sojourner,
    and murder (Y)the fatherless;
(Z)and they say, “The Lord does not see;
    the God of Jacob does not perceive.”

(AA)Understand, O dullest of the people!
    Fools, when will you be wise?
(AB)He who planted the ear, does he not hear?
He who formed the eye, does he not see?
10 He who (AC)disciplines the nations, does he not rebuke?
He who (AD)teaches man knowledge—
11     (AE)the Lord—knows the thoughts of man,
    that they are (AF)but a breath.[a]

12 (AG)Blessed is the man whom you (AH)discipline, O Lord,
    and whom you teach out of your law,
13 to give him (AI)rest from (AJ)days of trouble,
    until (AK)a pit is dug for the wicked.
14 (AL)For the Lord will not forsake his (AM)people;
    he will not abandon his (AN)heritage;
15 for (AO)justice will return to the righteous,
    and all the upright in heart will (AP)follow it.

16 (AQ)Who rises up for me against the wicked?
    Who stands up for me against evildoers?
17 (AR)If the Lord had not been my help,
    my soul would soon have lived in the land of (AS)silence.
18 When I thought, (AT)“My foot slips,”
    your steadfast love, O Lord, (AU)held me up.
19 When the cares of my heart are many,
    your consolations cheer my soul.
20 Can (AV)wicked rulers be allied with you,
    those who frame[b] injustice by (AW)statute?
21 They (AX)band together against the life of the righteous
    and condemn (AY)the innocent to death.[c]
22 But the Lord has become my (AZ)stronghold,
    and my God (BA)the rock of my (BB)refuge.
23 He will bring back on them (BC)their iniquity
    and (BD)wipe them out for their wickedness;
    the Lord our God will wipe them out.

Let Us Sing Songs of Praise

95 Oh come, let us sing to the Lord;
    let us (BE)make a joyful noise to (BF)the rock of our salvation!
Let us (BG)come into his presence with thanksgiving;
    let us (BH)make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise!
For the Lord is (BI)a great God,
    and a great King (BJ)above all gods.
In his hand are the depths of the earth;
    the heights of the mountains are his also.
The sea is his, for (BK)he made it,
    and his hands formed (BL)the dry land.

Oh come, let us worship and bow down;
    let us (BM)kneel before the Lord, our (BN)Maker!
For he is our (BO)God,
    and we are the people of his (BP)pasture,
    and the sheep of his hand.
(BQ)Today, if you (BR)hear his voice,
    (BS)do not harden your hearts, as at (BT)Meribah,
    as on the day at (BU)Massah in the wilderness,
when your fathers put me to the (BV)test
    and put me to the proof, though they had seen my (BW)work.
10 (BX)For forty years I loathed that generation
    and said, “They are a people who go astray in their heart,
    and they have not known (BY)my ways.”
11 Therefore I (BZ)swore in my wrath,
    “They shall not enter (CA)my rest.”

Therefore, my brothers,[a] whom I love and (A)long for, (B)my joy and (C)crown, (D)stand firm thus in the Lord, my beloved.

Exhortation, Encouragement, and Prayer

I entreat Euodia and I entreat Syntyche to (E)agree in the Lord. Yes, I ask you also, true companion,[b] help these women, who have labored[c] side by side with me in the gospel together with Clement and the rest of my fellow workers, (F)whose names are in the book of life.

(G)Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. Let your reasonableness[d] be known to everyone. (H)The Lord is at hand; (I)do not be anxious about anything, (J)but in everything by prayer and supplication (K)with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And (L)the peace of God, (M)which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. What you have learned[e] and (N)received and heard and seen (O)in me—practice these things, and (P)the God of peace will be with you.

God's Provision

10 I rejoiced in the Lord greatly that now at length (Q)you have revived your concern for me. You were indeed concerned for me, but you had no opportunity. 11 Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be (R)content. 12 I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and (S)hunger, abundance and (T)need. 13 I can do all things (U)through him who strengthens me.

14 Yet it was kind of you (V)to share[f] my trouble. 15 And you Philippians yourselves know that (W)in the beginning of the gospel, when I left Macedonia, (X)no church entered into partnership with me in giving and receiving, except you only. 16 Even in Thessalonica you sent me help for my needs once and again. 17 (Y)Not that I seek the gift, but I seek (Z)the fruit that increases to your credit.[g] 18 I have received full payment, and more. I am well supplied, (AA)having received from Epaphroditus the gifts you sent, (AB)a fragrant offering, (AC)a sacrifice acceptable and pleasing to God. 19 And my God (AD)will supply every need of yours (AE)according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. 20 To (AF)our God and Father be (AG)glory forever and ever. Amen.

Final Greetings

21 Greet every saint in Christ Jesus. (AH)The brothers who are with me greet you. 22 (AI)All the saints greet you, especially those of Caesar's household.

23 (AJ)The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit.
