⁵ But to the one who does not work, but ^(A)believes in Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is credited as righteousness, ⁶ just as David also speaks of the blessing of the person to whom God credits righteousness apart from works:

^30 (A)What shall we say then? That Gentiles, who did not pursue righteousness, attained righteousness, but ^(B)the righteousness that is ^[a]by faith; ³¹ however, Israel, ^(C)pursuing a law of righteousness, did not ^(D)arrive at that law.

³ For not knowing about ^(A)God’s righteousness and ^(B)seeking to establish their own, they did not subject themselves to the righteousness of God. ⁴ For ^(C)Christ is the ^[a]end of the Law for righteousness to ^(D)everyone who believes.
