Genesis 15:3-6

³ Abram also said, “^[a]Since You have given me no ^[b]son, ^[c]one who has been ^(A)born in my house is my heir.” ⁴ Then behold, the word of the Lord came to him, saying, “This man will not be your heir; ^(B)but one who will come from your own ^[d]body shall be your heir.” ⁵ And He took him outside and said, “Now look toward the heavens and ^(C)count the stars, if you are able to count them.” And He said to him, “^(D)So shall your ^[e]descendants be.” ^6 (E)Then he believed in the Lord; and He ^[f]credited it to him as righteousness.
