1 Thessalonians 1:5-10

⁵ for our ^(A)gospel did not come to you in word only, but also ^(B)in power and in the Holy Spirit and with ^(C)full conviction; just as you know ^(D)what kind of men we proved to be among you for your sakes. ⁶ You also became ^(E)imitators of us and of the Lord, ^(F)having received ^(G)the word during great affliction with the ^(H)joy of the Holy Spirit, ⁷ so that you became an example to all the believers in ^(I)Macedonia and ^(J)Achaia. ⁸ For ^(K)the word of the Lord has ^(L)sounded forth from you, not only in ^(M)Macedonia and ^(N)Achaia, but ^(O)in every place the news of your faith toward God has gone out, so that we have no need to say anything. ⁹ For they themselves report about us ^[a]as to the kind of ^(P)reception we had with you, and how you ^(Q)turned to God ^(R)from ^[b]idols to serve ^[c](S)a living and true God, ¹⁰ and to ^(T)wait for His Son from ^[d]heaven, whom He ^(U)raised from the dead, that is, Jesus who ^(V)rescues us from ^(W)the wrath to come.
