Proverbs 6:13-23
New American Standard Bible
13 Who (A)winks with his eyes, who [a]signals with his feet,
Who [b]points with his fingers;
14 Who, with (B)perversion in his heart, continually (C)devises evil,
Who [c](D)spreads strife.
15 Therefore (E)his disaster will come suddenly;
(F)Instantly he will be broken and there will be (G)no healing.
16 There are six things that the Lord hates,
Seven that are an abomination [d]to Him:
17 (H)Haughty eyes, a (I)lying tongue,
And hands that (J)shed innocent blood,
18 A heart that devises (K)wicked plans,
(L)Feet that run rapidly to evil,
19 A (M)false witness who declares lies,
And one who [e](N)spreads strife among brothers.
20 (O)My son, comply with the commandment of your father,
And do not ignore the [f]teaching of your mother;
21 (P)Bind them continually on your heart;
Tie them around your neck.
22 When you (Q)walk, [g]they will guide you;
When you sleep, [h]they will watch over you;
And when you awake, [i]they will talk to you.
23 For (R)the commandment is a lamp and the [j]teaching is light;
And rebukes for discipline are the way of life
